This lamp is great! I am using this in my office and it give a great modern look. The white is a true white, its' tall, the base is strong and sturdy. This arrived fast and the packaging was great not worried that it would be broken when it arrived.This lamp is average, nothing too great about it. Clean, modern lookingNourison's 27" White & Black Rectangular block lamp is a relatively elegant lamp if you don't get too close, but I really don't like the shade. It does take a 100W bulb (which is nice, even if in these LED days you're never going to put one in at that wattage) and it's a very translucent one - my adjustable color bulb showed up as soft white after years of being yellow in a fabric shade.The problem is though that the shade appears to be a fairly cheap plastic base that has a fabric layer over it, and the plastic very easily wrinkles with the slightest touch - and there's no way to get it back to its original form. Thus, you're left with darker marks from slight wrinkles through the shade on the wall, which really distracts from the elegance of the lamp. It's also a very large shade, which doesn't create stability problems but will occupy a lot of space; this is really designed for an end table. For the price, it's a bit much.3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I like the lamp, but it's expensive and the shade thing really disappointed me.Initially I was really happy with this lamp, the general appearance is beautiful but up close the quality doesn't quite live up to the price point. You have to pull the lead / wire through the main part and this leaves the lamp at the top a little wobbly. I was expecting the materials used to be of a higher quality. It didn't come with a light bulb either. The quality of each piece is average BUT the big plus is it looks expensive from a little distance and stylish.
